Eyes
Make 2. Work with white yarn.
Make 10 chains. (Start with a long yarn tail — you will use this tail to sew the eye detail (“reflection”) on the pupil.)
Rnd 1: Start on the second chain from the hook 8 sc, 3 sc in last chain, and work on the opposite side of the chain 7 sc, inc (20)
Rnd 2: inc, 7 sc, [inc] x 3, 7 sc, [inc] x 2 (26)
Rnd 3: 1 sc, inc, 7 sc, [1 sc, inc] x 3, 7 sc, [1 sc, inc] x 2 (32)
Fasten off and leave a long tail to sew to the head.

Pupil
Make 2. Work with black yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: inc, [hdc + dc] in next st, [dc + hdc] in next st, inc, [hdc + dc] in next st, [dc + hdc] in next st (12) Fasten off and leave a long tail to sew to the eye.
Now sew the pupil on the white eye, like the picture. Embroider also the white detail on the pupil.

LEGS
Make 8. Work each leg with different color. Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: [inc] x 6 (12)
Rnd 3-25: 12 sc — 23 rounds (12)
Stuff with filling up to round 20.
Put the stitches together and crochet 6 sc across the stitches. See above.

Body and Head
Start with black yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
Rnd 2: find x 6 (12)
Change to white yarn.
Rnd 3: [1 sc, inc] x 6 (18)
Rnd 4: [2 sc, inc] x 6 (24)
Change to black yarn.

Rnd 6: [4 sc, inc] x 6 (36)
Change to white yarn.
Rnd 7: [5 sc, inc] x 6 (42)
Rnd 8: [6 sc, Inc] x 6 (48)
Change to black yarn.
Rnd 9: [5 sc, inc] x 8 (56)
Now you will crochet all legs to the body. The legs should be placed in front of the body and be crochet across both stitches.
Change to purple yarn.
Rnd 10: 1 sc, take first leg and crochet 6 sc across the stitches of leg and underside, 1 sc, second leg: 6 sc, 1 sc, third leg: 6 sc, 1 sc, fourth leg: 6 sc, 1 sc, fifth leg: 6 sc, 1 sc, sixth leg: 6 sc, 1 sc, seventh leg: 6 sc, 1 sc, eighth leg: 6 sc (56)
Rnd 11: In back loops: 56 sc (56)

Rnd 14: 3 sc, [inc, 6 sc] x 7, inc, 3 sc (64)
Rnd 15: 64 sc (64)
Rnd 16: [7 sc, inc] x 8 (72)
Rnd 17: 72 sc (72)
Rnd 18: 4 sc, [inc, 8 sc] x 7, inc, 4 sc (80)
Rnd 19-23: 80 sc — 5 rounds (80)
Rnd 24: 4 sc, [dec, 8 sc] x 7, dec, 4 sc (72)
Rnd 25-26: 72 sc — 2 rounds (72)
Rnd 27: [7 sc, dec] x 8 (64)
Now you can sew the eyes to the head.
If you sew them now, it will be much easier since you can use the inside of the body. Place the eyes between round 13 and 26. With 5 stitches between the eyes. Embroider the mouth in the bottom between the eyes.
Rnd 28: 64 sc (64)
Rnd 29: 3 sc, [dec, 6 sc] x 7, dec, 3 sc (56)
Rnd 30: 56 sc (56)

Rnd 34: [3 sc, dec] x 8 (32)
Stuff the head with filling. Place a rattle ball inside the head.
Rnd 35: 1 sc, [dec, 2 sc] x 7, dec, 1 sc (24)
Rnd 36: [1 sc, dec] x 8 (16)
Rnd 37: [dec] x 8 (8)
Fasten off and leave a yarn tail. Weave the yarn tail through the front loops of each stitch and pull it tight to close. Then weave in the yarn ends.

Edge
Hold the octopus upside down. Insert the hook (see picture below) on the last front loop of round 11 and make a slip knot and a slst.
Now work all stitches on the front loops of round 11.
Rnd 1: [Skip the next 2 st, make 5 dc in the third st, skip the next 2 st, make a slst in the third st], repeat between the brackets 8 more times — you should have total 9 shells. (54)
Make a slst on the first slst. Fasten off and weave in the yarn tails.

Strap
Hold the doll with the eyes facing you. 2 stitches from the last round you will now insert the hook. Take the yarn, make a slip knot and crochet 1 sc in same place. Continue and crochet 4 sc to the left. Then, make 1 chain.
Turn the piece around and continue crochet on the other side. You will now work in rows. (You can crochet as many rows you want.)
Row 1-15: 5 sc, 1 ch, turn — 15 rows (5)
Fasten off and leave a long tail to sew the ring to the strap.

Weave in the yarn tail from the first slip knot.
Take a wooden ring or stroller ring/ hook, and wrap the strap around it. Sew the strap together tightly and weave in the yarn.
Congratulations!
Your Nora Octopus is done!
